Race into Town for a Weekend of Family Fun and Professional Snowmobile Racing

Gather your family.  Grab your winter coat, mittens and hat.  Put on a warm pair of socks and your winter boots.  Load the family in the car and head to Caro for a weekend of family fun and heart-pounding excitement at the Caro 150 Winter Fest and Snowmobile Races January 23-25, 2015.

The festivities get started on Friday night with snowmobiles on Main Street that include snowmobiles from one of the racing teams, horse-drawn wagon rides, local entertainment, and community-wide shopping and restaurant specials.

On Saturday and Sunday the fun moves to the Tuscola County Fairgrounds where you’ll find a warming tent with live entertainment, silent auction, vendor food, shirt sales, Penelope's Beer & Wine Ice Bar, chainsaw carving competition, Snowmobile & ATV Swap meet, and much more. And you never know who you might find wandering around; such as, the Caro 150 Winter Fest mascot – Penelope the Penguin!  Kids can enjoy hanging out and getting their pictures taken with Penelope.

Your heart will skip a beat or two as you sit on the edge of your seat in the grandstands watching the racers fly around the track.  Saturday’s races feature Sprint pro, semi-pro and junior, and Vintage.  On Sunday, the Kitty Kat races take place early followed by the 150 mile Enduro race.  Before the big race, though, you can mingle with the racers and get up close to the snowmobiles at a meet-n-greet on the track.  The professional snowmobile racing is overseen by Midwest International Racing Association (MIRA) and includes teams from all over the state and beyond.  Interested racers can find out more at www.miraracing.com.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate.  Admission is $10 for a 1-day ticket or $15 for a weekend pass.  Children 12 years old and under get in free with a paid adult admission.  Visit the event calendar for complete details.  Events and times are subject to change. You can also contact Debra Lipan at (989) 673-7424 or Kris Reinelt at (810) 569-6856 for more information.
